No more recording each track out through an interface. Groovebox Exporter reads the sessions and rebuilds them from the pack's own samples, so what opens in your DAW is what the box plays.
Made by Axel Wild (Axel Drioli, founder of Sounding Wild), sound engineer and sound designer, with years of experience building sound databases for international technology companies. Every version is checked against recordings of the device.
I built it to play my own field-recorded beats in Live. Now it works on any card.
Every export comes with these notes inside it too: in REAPER's project notes, and as a text file next to the Live set.
Live sets on the Circuit Rhythm, every rhythm made from wildlife recordings.
Live mix from the bird-ringing residency in Albania, 2026.

One computer, Mac and Windows, updates included. 14 days to change your mind.
Want to hear it first? The free version reorganises your card, plays a preview of every session, and exports one session to Live or REAPER so you can try the real thing.
Prices shown in pounds; Gumroad shows your local currency and adds VAT where it applies.
Download REAPER first. Without it Groovebox Exporter won't work. Get it from reaper.fm (the free evaluation is enough); you never have to open it. Nothing else is required, apart from Ableton Live if you export to Live.
Version 1.3.2. Internet needed once to sign in, then it works offline.
Your download has started. While it finishes, here's how to open it the first time. After step 2, the button in step 4 takes you straight to Open Anyway.
Open the .dmg from Downloads and drag the icon onto Applications.
Double-click it in Applications. Your Mac can't check it yet: click Done, not Move to Bin.
Apple menu › System Settings…
Click Privacy & Security, scroll down to Security and click Open Anyway.
Or skip steps 3 and 4 with this button, which opens it already scrolled down:
Open Privacy & Security
Click Open Anyway again and enter your password. From now on it opens normally.
No Open Anyway button? Repeat step 2, then come straight back.
Click More info, then Run anyway.

When you buy: Gumroad is the seller. It handles your payment and receipt under its own privacy policy, and I see your name, email and order. I don't see your card details. To sign you in, the licence server asks Gumroad's licence check (in the US) whether your receipt key is genuine and not refunded: when you first sign in, and about once a day after that while the app is online.
From the preview form: your name, email, computer, what you use and your note, to choose testers and write to you about the preview. The form checks you're human with a hidden field and, when it's switched on, Cloudflare Turnstile.
From the app: your email, your password (only as a one-way scrambled code: nobody, me included, can read it back), your licence key (to check for refunds with Gumroad), a one-way code made from your computer's hardware id (not the id itself), your computer's name (as set in its settings, so you and I can tell which computer holds the licence), what kind of computer it is, the app version, and when you signed in and last used it. This runs the one-computer licence and stops it being shared.
Feedback from the app: when you press Feedback, your message and its kind, your email, your computer's name and kind, the app version and which screen you were on, so I can reply and fix things.
Why I'm allowed to: the licence and its checks run the contract you made when you bought it or joined the preview; the preview form, so I can do what you asked before giving you a licence; feedback, the human check and the sign-in limits are my legitimate interests in fixing the app and keeping it safe.
Where: the licence, preview and feedback records are kept in an Upstash database (Upstash, Inc.), reached through Vercel, which hosts this site. Gumroad, Upstash and Vercel are US companies: Vercel transfers data under the UK–US data bridge and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, Gumroad and Upstash under standard contractual clauses. The installers download from GitHub. Nobody else sees your records. No tracking cookies on this page, only a cookieless visit count (Vercel Web Analytics, no personal data); videos load from YouTube only when you press play.
How long: licence records for as long as your licence is used, plus 6 years for tax and contract records; preview records 3 months after the preview ends, or sooner when you ask; feedback until it's dealt with, at most 2 years. You can ask to see, correct or delete what I hold.
Complaints: if you're unhappy with how your data is handled, write to hello@soundingwild.com; I'll acknowledge within 30 days and reply as soon as I can. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk.
Groovebox Exporter is an app for Mac (Windows in preview) that turns the sessions on a Novation Circuit Rhythm SD card into Ableton Live sets and REAPER projects that play like the device: the same samples, patterns, swing and effects. It also organises the packs and sessions on the card. £39, once.
Open Groovebox Exporter with your Circuit Rhythm SD card (or a copy of it) and export. Each pack becomes a set of scenes, each session a scene of clips on 8 tracks, with Samplers loaded with your own samples and the Circuit's effects already set. No recording each track out through an audio interface.
Only when you press Send to card. It works on a copy on your computer, and before writing it saves what's on the card and checks every file after.
Before each Send to card: back up the whole card to a folder, keep the computer on power, and leave the card in until the app ejects it. The first time, try a spare card.
That's the aim. The Circuit's filters, distortion, sidechain, delay and reverb were measured on the device and rebuilt with Live's own devices and REAPER plug-ins, and every version is checked against recordings of the Circuit. Hear a difference? Send me the session.
Live 12 Suite (for Sampler, Roar and Hybrid Reverb). The free trial is Suite. Live Standard and Intro don't have those devices.
Yes. Groovebox Exporter works through REAPER in the background: it renders the previews, the mixes and the stems, and measures each beat's loudness for the Live sets. Install it before you start. The free evaluation from reaper.fm is enough, and you never have to open it.
In REAPER: a stereo render and stems of every beat. In Live, every clip holds its notes with their velocities, so you can edit the patterns. Logic Pro export, with stems and MIDI, is coming in an update.
No. It reads Circuit Rhythm sessions only.
Both are in preview. Help test one and get a free licence: use the preview form above.
Internet once to sign in, then it works offline. Your sessions and samples never leave your computer.
In your Gumroad receipt. In the app, click First time?, enter it and choose a password.
One at a time. Sign out on one first, or write to me and I'll move it.
£39 once, updates included, for one computer at a time, with 14 days to change your mind.
Yes. Get a free code on Gumroad and sign in with it. The free version reads your card, reorganises your sessions and packs, and renders a compressed preview of every session to listen to in the app. You can also export one session to Ableton Live or REAPER, once, exactly as the full version makes it. Exporting your whole card, in full quality, any time, is the full version; buying with the same email unlocks it.
